Take Your Taste Buds For A Culinary Adventure Without Having To Drive Far

You won’t find much of The Old Swedes Inn left in the newly opened Tavro 13, but as long as you realize that, you will be pleased with the dramatic interior of this high end “Philadelphia” style fine dining restaurant.

The changes first become apparent by the dark gold and black exterior. Walk in the front doors, and you will see that the hallway walls are now adorned by large hand drawn and painted murals done by Effie Tzitzifas. Tavro is owned by Effie and her husband, Constantine “Gus” Tzitzifas, who have partnered with Chef Terence Feury on this culinary adventure.

Since 1771, the Olde Swedes Inn has served South Jersey as a place of lodging and dining. Recent renovations and new ownership have claimed a new life for the Olde Swedes Inn, under the name of Tavro 13. This restaurant, lounge, and bar serve as an innovative take on fine dining apart from the city of Philadelphia. The classic cocktails, live music lounge, and seasonally inspired American cuisine reflect local culture on both fronts: with well-preserved history and cutting-edge contemporary. There is an extreme air of confidence about Tavro 13. Craving mouthwatering food? Want the ultimate upscale dining experience? Look no further than Tavro 13. With dishes such as a Prime Rib Steak with braised kale, beef fat potato and a red wine sauce or King Salmon with wild mushroom ragout, gnocchi, and chive puree, you are sure to have plenty of delicious options.

In 2006, Gus Tzitzifas brought the Swedesboro Inn and completely transformed it. His vision for the restaurant was to give an old environment a new feel, to focus on great food and excellent service.

Tavro 13 opened its doors on October 22, 2012 and ever since, they have been a local hot-spot. Tarvo 13 walks the fine line between familiar and cutting edge, on their menu and in the restaurant itself. The restaurant’s atmosphere is inspired by the building’s history, which is a blend of a comfort and familiarity combined with the “big city” feel.
